Chris Bailey

TITLED SPORTS & EXERCISE PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Chris is a Titled Australian Physiotherapist Association (APA) Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist, completing both his Physiotherapy degree and his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy with more than 15 years of experience in the field.

Chris has extensive experience as a Sports Physio and in providing management and rehabilitation injuries most recently in his position as the Head Physio at Manly Warringah Sea Eagles in the National Rugby League (NRL). Prior to this, he held the Head Physio of the Australian Men’s Rugby 7’s Team for 4 years. This included working for the National Rugby 7’s team at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Prior to this Chris worked in the NRL as the Head Physio for the St George Illawarra Dragons, and as Physio & Rehab Coordinator for the Manly Sea Eagles. Earlier on in his career Chris worked with the ARU National Rugby Academy, as well as providing match day coverage for other local sporting teams including Manly United Football Club and the Warringah Rats. 

Chris has worked in private practice for nearly half of his career as a Physio where he see’s all types of sporting injuries spanning a variety of ages. Chris believes education is critical in a successful outcome post sports injury and rehab.

Chris brings his experiences from a High Performance setting, working with elite athletes, to the general public to provide an unrivalled injury management service.

Luke Heath

TITLED SPORTS & EXERCISE PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Luke is a titled Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) Sports Physiotherapist who holds a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy, Graduate Entry Masters in Physiotherapy and an Undergraduate Degree in Sports and Exercise Science. Luke is currently working in overseas in Qatar at world renowned rehab facility named Aspetar. Luke has substantial experience in sports physio and the rehab setting over the past 10 years, working as the Head of Medical Role with Sydney FC’s A-League team and the Senior Physiotherapist and Rehab Co-ordinator roles at the GWS Giants in the Australian Football League (AFL) over the 7 years he spent with the club. Luke has also worked in the ARU Sevens program and at the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Rugby League Club as the Physiotherapist for the Junior Program. Luke also previously worked for the ARU in their National Rugby Academy with up and coming young professional athletes, as well as covering the local Manly Warringah Netball competition, Warringah Rats and Avalon Bulldogs where he managed sports injuries across a wide range of ages.

Luke has also spent many of his early years as a Sports Physio in a private practice setting that exposed him to to a wide variety of sporting injuries in both weekend warriors and young aspiring athletes alike.

Luke's background, along with his passion for combining the best in Sports Physio and Strength and Conditioning practices, makes him the ideal practitioner in a sports rehab setting. Having worked in both private practice and professional sport, Luke aims to bring High Performance to the general public.

Edward Gellert

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Ed completed his postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy at Macquarie University, and holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science. Ed has since been working in a private practice, gaining knowledge in managing a variety of injuries and patients. These include established and aspiring athletes alike, children and adolescents, post-operative orthopaedic patients, and everyday weekend warriors. He believes strongly in ensuring all patients have a clear understanding of their injury and then creating a plan with them to return them to a higher level of performance than when they started.

Ed is the current Head Physio of Manly Sea Eagles U21 Jersey Flegg team.

Ed further complements his private practice experience with his work in Rugby with Gordon Rugby Club as Colts Head Physiotherapist for multiple seasons, Assistant Gordon Grade Physiotherapist. Ed has also previously worked with a number of other sporting teams and organisations including National Premier League football club APIA Leichardt Tigers and Suburban NSW Rugby club Knox Rugby.

Ed’s background as a rugby player himself, in combination with his experience as a Physiotherapist in private practice and with various sporting clubs and athletes places him in good stead to deliver high quality, exercise-based rehabilitation to our patients at High Performance Rehab & Sports Physio.

Matthew Anthis

TITLED SPORTS & EXERCISE PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Matthew is an Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the Australian Catholic University (ACU) and a Masters of Sports Medicine from the University of Melbourne.

Matthew has had close to a decade of sports coverage experience with Newington College, working onsite with a range of sports, including 1sts and 2nds Rugby, Football, Basketball, Rowing and Athletics as well as developing injury prevention programs. He has been fortunate to also have stints with the Sydney Roosters and Balmain Tigers Harold Matthews and SG Ball teams, as well as the Wyong Roos. Matthew is a Rowing Australia Preferred Provider, having been involved with a number of clubs and schools in Sydney and a Netball Australia KNEE Program Provider.

Matthew’s interest in physiotherapy traces back to when he was a rower and suffered a back injury as an adolescent. Feeling the need for a more stimulating rehab experience as a result of this injury, he enjoys monitoring and tracking the process and encouraging others to achieve their goals. Subsequently, he has completed a Certificate IV in Elite Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement to further his servicing as he understands the importance of meeting the physical and mental side of injuries for good results.

Matthew has a particular interest in hamstring injuries, working behind the scenes on research projects and looking to commence a PhD late 2022/early 2023. With his combination of experience in pre and post-operative rehabilitation and working in a variety of sports, he is well placed to get athletes at HPRS physio back on their feet and doing what they are passionate about with an engaging and all-encompassing rehabilitation program.

Antonietta Del Pinto

PHYSIOTHERAPIST & STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

Antonietta is a physiotherapist passionate about sports rehabilitation. She has also completed a Masters of High Performance Sport at ACU. She believes rehabilitation isn’t just about returning to sport but also returning to a higher level of performance. Antonietta is the current Head Physiotherapist at Sydney FC for the Women’s team. Previously she has worked in numerous sports a as Head Physiotherapist for Melbourne City Women’s team.

Prior to this Antonietta has also worked multiple years at Inner West Magpies AFL in the Premiere AFL NSW division as head physiotherapist for their mens 1st grade and also worked at APIA Leichhardt FC in the National Premier League. Before these roles Antonietta has used her physiotherapist skills with different rugby, AFL and football teams in NSW.

Antonietta also has a ASCA Level 2 Strength and Conditioning qualification and also combines her physiotherapy work by working in the S&C field. She currently also holds the role of Athlete Development Manager at St Andrews Cathedral School.

Harrison Nicholson

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Harrison completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Canberra where he was awarded for Excellence in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, and has since made the move to the sunny Northern Beaches after growing up in Northern NSW. Whilst studying, Harrison worked with a variety of sporting teams and populations including U19s ACT Brumbies Rugby Union, ACT Griffins Rugby Union, ACT Brumbies Senior Academy and top squad, Canberra Royals Rugby Union Club, Yarabi Football Club, and Yass Wellness Centre. Harrison also worked as a personal trainer for 4 years prior to beginning work as a physiotherapist.  

Prior to studying, Harrison played high-level cricket in the NSW junior ranks, and more recently has been a junior national-level powerlifter.  

Harrison has recently been appointed Rehabilitation Physiotherapist for Manly Sea Eagles Jersey Flegg U21s. 

Harrison has a strong passion for sports injury rehabilitation whether it’s a weekend warrior from the fun run, or an elite athlete. Harrison is passionate about working with individuals towards their goals and return from injury.
